Wine Rai Dana Bandhej Pure Banarasi Saree with Floral Embroidery
If you want one saree that covers the wedding season, the festive calendar and every family function in between, this Rai Dana Bandhej Banarasi saree is it. It comes in a deep wine shade (We offer 100% Colour Customization — want it in a different colour? We’ll weave it fresh just for you in the colour of your choice!). The body is covered in tiny bandhej dots and delicate white thread embroidery, and the saree is framed by a broad, richly patterned zari border. It looks rich from across the room and even better up close.
Rai Dana Bandhej Saree: Tiny Dots, Big Tradition
Rai Dana bandhej is named after the fine mustard-seed-sized dots tied and dyed one by one into the fabric. On your saree, these tiny yellow dots form soft diamond clusters across the body and continue onto the pallu. Against the dark wine ground, they glow like little sparks of light. Every dot is hand-tied, so no two clusters are exactly alike. That is what makes a genuine bandhej Banarasi saree feel personal rather than mass-produced.
Embroidered Banarasi Saree with White Floral Jaal Work
The middle portion of the saree body carries fine white thread embroidery, and this is what sets the saree apart from a plain bandhej. Creeping vines link rows of full-bloom flowers, and star-shaped floral clusters are stitched between them to form an elegant lattice. The embroidery sits over the bandhej dots without hiding them, so you get two textures in one drape. The white thread against the wine ground (We offer 100% Colour Customization — want it in a different colour? We’ll weave it fresh just for you in the colour of your choice!) gives the saree a refined, almost heirloom look.
Zari Border and Pallu: The Banarasi Signature
Both long borders are broad bands of intricate zari work, with scrolling floral vines and rows of fine geometric detailing along the edges. The border reads as a frame around the embroidered body. At the pallu end, a narrow patterned band leads into large leaf-shaped zari motifs arranged in neat rows against bandhej. When you drape it, the pallu falls with real weight and presence.

6.5 Metre Saree with Matching Bandhej Blouse Piece
The saree is a full 6.5 metres, enough for a comfortable pleated drape with a generous pallu. It comes with a matching blouse piece that also carries bandhej detailing and a coordinating zari border. You can have it stitched as a classic fitted blouse or a statement design, and the border detail will sit beautifully on sleeves or a neckline.
Where to Wear Your Bandhej Banarasi Saree
This is a true occasion saree. It suits bridal functions, mehendi and sangeet evenings, receptions, Karwa Chauth, Diwali and wedding-season gatherings. Pair it with oxidised or kundan jewellery and you are set. For more dressed-up occasions, a pearl choker and a sleek bun work well with the rich wine tone (We offer 100% Colour Customization — want it in a different colour? We’ll weave it fresh just for you in the colour of your choice!). Each saree from The Weaveloom is checked piece by piece before it reaches you, so you receive something you can wear proudly and pass down.
